SCIATICA is a pain that travels down the leg following the course of the sciatic nerve. This is a large nerve that is formed by a number of nerve roots arising from the lumbar spine.
Most Common Causes of SCIATICA:
Lumbar Disc Syndromes – The most common type are those that herniate or bulge into flexion.
Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction – These large joints of the hip and pelvis can cause pressure on the sciatic nerve when irritated.
Piriformis Syndrome – This is a deep muscle of the buttock. What’s unique about this muscle is that the sciatic nerve dives deep into the belly of this muscle so any tightness or change in tone of this muscle can cause pain.
Slight Misalignments of the Lumbar spine can cause pressure on the lumbar nerve roots causing Sciatica.
This video will demonstrate some of my favorite techniques to relieve sciatic pain hopefully for GOOD!
