BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO RESISTANCE TRAINING | QUARANTINE VIDEO SERIES

This video aims to simplify the concepts around resistance training and leave you with simple & implementable tips for you to increase your mobility, stability, and strength over time. 

 

RESISTANCE TRAINING is any form of exercise that forces your skeletal muscles to contract against an external resistance. This can be anything from a dumbbell, barbell, kettlebell, and resistance band. Even just your own body weight and/ or water bottles – anything that makes your muscles work harder is a fair game. 

There are multiple studies over decades that have validated the beneficial effects of resistance training over other forms of exercise such as aerobic or cardiovascular activity. 

Just to be clear, ALL FORMS OF EXERCISE whether CARDIOVASCULAR and/ or RESISTANCE TRAINING are GOOD FOR YOU! Any activity is better than inactivity. Remember that things that don’t move – are usually DEAD!!!
